About KoreaPosts
KoreaPosts is a set of practical guides to the Korean exams foreigners take: TOPIK for university, work and visa points, the KIIP integration programme for long-term residence and citizenship, the driving licence written test, and the other tests that come up when you live in Korea.
Most of what decides how these exams go is not in the textbooks. How the registration site behaves, which seats sell out first, what the writing section is actually marked on, which past papers are official and where to find them, what you are allowed to bring on the day. The official information exists, but it is spread across Korean-language notices, PDFs and sites that change every year. These guides put it in one place, in plain English.
Who writes this
KoreaPosts is written by Mokdongnyeok, who lives in Gyeonggi-do, just north of Seoul, and writes practical guides to the Korean exams foreigners take — walking through each registration screen, working through the official past papers and checking every fee, format and score rule against the official source.
Being a native Korean speaker has one big advantage here: the official notices are read in Korean the day they are published, often well before the English pages are updated. Where the Korean and English versions of an official page disagree, the guides say so and follow the Korean one.
How each guide is made
- The real screens, in order. Registration and booking sites are walked through step by step, so you know what each page asks for and where foreign applicants usually get stuck.
- The official papers. Advice on what to study is based on the past papers and sample questions the exam bodies publish themselves, not on guesswork about what “usually comes up”.
- Checked against the official source. Fees, dates, formats and score rules come from the organisation that runs the exam — NIIED for TOPIK, the Ministry of Justice for KIIP, the Korea Road Traffic Authority for the driving test — and those pages are listed at the bottom of every guide.
- Dated. Each guide shows when it was published and last updated. Exam rules and schedules change every year, and guides are revised when they do.

KoreaPosts is funded entirely by Google AdSense advertising. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored posts and no paid placements, and no publisher or academy pays to be mentioned. Advertisements are served by Google, are labelled as ads and have no influence on what is written.
